9th grade:
How I helped during water crisis in Peru
Mar.31,2017
During the week that school was cancelled, I kept myself informed with the landslide incidents occuring in Peru. I tried to help the situation as much as I could. I did this by buying, donating food and water to the foundations that asked for resources that went scarce because of landslides. I am very suprised by the amount of people I have seen helping the people in need. I have really noticed that when our nation is in a state of emergency, we don't ignore the plea.
In my classes we did not do anything related to the natural disasters occuring, however the school encouraged students to bring basic needs and later on we will donate them.

Cajamarca
Goal - Remodel a reading space for a school in Cajamarca that didn't have a clean organized reading space for kids.
How? Before going to Cajamarca we separated in our assigned groups and plan what we were going to do for their reading space. After looking at pictures of their reading space, we assigned poeple to bring cleaning materials and wrote down a list of materials like wood, paint etc. We placed all the materials in a power point and shared it so our group knew what each had to buy. |
Arriving to Cajamarca-
On Wednesday and Thursday Each bus went to their corresponding school to do their service. We were assigned to the Llushcapapampa school where we split into three groups. One where we remoldeled the reading space, the other where they created a mural to incentivate reading, and the other where they played with the kids in the school. Each day we would arrive early in the morning and leave in the afternoon. Our final result was amzing, and I was happy to be a part of something that I knew was going to make the kids happy.
